Random Nailart Spam

Hello girls! Today's post is an assortment of manis that I've done these past couple weeks that were a little bit too sloppy to take more than picture of them for a full post. Still, some of them are kinda cute and I enjoyed them while I had them on.

This first mani is the oldest and was my first ever attempt at stamping with a squishy stamper. I used Ninja Polish Passion Shift for the base and stamped using Moyou London Suki 04 plate with Konad Special Black polish. Oh, my cuticles were in a sorry state then :/

This mani was for a challenge on a Facebook group, the theme was "gradient", plain and simple. I used Lime Crime Once in a Blue Mousse and Pastelchio for my gradient ad added the stamping with BM 423 and Konad Special Black since I had just received this replacement plate

This one was also for the weekly nailart challenge from the Facebook group, we were to try newspaper nails, I decided to take a spin on it taking some inspiration from a makeup bag I saw in a store that same week (it had the newspaper print on the outside and a beautiful blue lining and a red hearts print). I used Finger Paints Papier Maché and this Koh Baby Blue polish as bases, then transferred the newspaper print (following this tutorial) and added freehanded hearts with a dotting tool and Zoya Sooki. Crappiest hearts ever, lol.

Finally, this was my take on the Adventures in Stamping Sunday weekly challenge, it's also is my first skittlette. As bases I used: China Glaze I Herd That, ILNP Undenied and OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI? Then I stamped with Konad Special Black using BM 205 and BM 424.

And that's it. I hope you liked these, even though they're not my best for many reasons, I still liked them (even if I only liked *the idea* of them and would like to redo them sometime).

ILNP Kings & Queens

Hola chicas!
Hello girls! Today I'm sharing with you the first ILNP I wore and took pics of, the wonderful Kings & Queens. I don't have much words for it, so let's just go straight to the pictures...

Holy cow. Ahem. Kings and Queens is a fantastic warm, medium toned purple infused with a strong holographic effect. The formula was flawless and it was opaque in two easy coats and I skipped top coat, like I do for most of my holos.
I really can't think of anything wrong with this polish: the color is perfect, the formula is perfect, the holo flame is gorgeous. Yup. You need this one in your collection.
Holos are a tricky business, you generally have to choose between a strong holo effect and a intense color base, because the pigment used to get the holographic effect is silver colored. But ILNP nailed it with this shade (see what I did there?) because you get both, an intense holo flame and a gorgeous base color that shines through.

What is your favorite holo? Tell me in the comments :)

Kiko Cupcake

Hey girls! Today I bring a quick skittles/swatch mani I did with these new -to me- Kiko cupcake shades. I wasn't very into these polishes but a friend of mine ordered some and when I saw them in real life, man I fell in love with them. So. Hard.
The Cupcake Collection by Kiko consists of 10 shades of pastel textured polishes that are speckled with contrasting shades of tiny matte glitter. They DO really look like cupcake frosting, yum. The shades I'm wearing today are, from left to right are: 655 Mint, 656 Pistachio, 648 Pineapple and 647 Jasmine.
The application on all these shades was very easy and all of them were opaque in 2 coats, from what I remember. I love textured polishes because they make for an easy, quick mani because they dry so fast. Just basecoat, two coats of color and they're ready to go.

I was on the fence about these polishes because I prefer my textures sparkly, but I have to confess that these are quite charming too. Even though the glitter is matte, the contrasting colors add something really cute to them.
So, after I tried these I went and asked a friend in Spain to get me some of these shades lol. She got me 647 Jasmine, 651 Strawberry and 654 Anise. I look forward to getting them and play a little.

Speaking of playing, I used my thumb as a base for my first attempt on the leadlight technique for stamping, using China Glaze Sunsational Jellies. The leadlight tecnique consists on using sheer or jelly polishes on top of stamped images to add color (kinda like the reverse of the decal technique).
I think using a textured base kinda added something to it. And even though pastels and neons is not something I normally would mix, I do think it makes for an interesting effect. So what do you think, is it a fail or a yay?

ILNP Nail Mail!

Hola chicas!
Hey girls! Today I'm sharing with you my latest nail mail, one I was very much anticipating, my very first I Love Nail Polish... polishes lol. ILNP is an indie brand of polish that is most well know for its amazing multichromatic and holographic shades, which was what I chose for my first order with them.
First thing that I loved as soon as I opened the box was this beautiful personalized tissue paper. Isn't it lovely? I love it when brand take this extra care in their presentation. Inside were my polishes wrapped up in bubble wrap. As you can see, they arrived safe and sound, even if they took their sweet time doing so (these shipped April 9th and got to me on May 14th)
The boxes that enclose the polishes are beautiful and the cardboard is very sturdy, so it'll stand the constant use well. I also love the diecut heart, it's a cute touch if you display your polishes in something like a shelf, but if you don't they also have the sticker with the name on top.
So, a closer look at my order. I got, from left to right: Sirene, Undenied and Kings & Queens. All my choices were part of the 2014 spring collection, which was a happy coincidence. I'm amazed by all the color shifts in the multichromatic bottles, I never thought one polish could contain so many colors at the same time *gasp*. Kings and Queens is gorgeous, and the holographic effect is REALLY strong, but I took my pics indoors so it doesn't show much.

Have you tried ILNP? Which is your favorite? I'd love to know as I think I'll need to place another order sometime soon, they have so many great shades.

Purple Peacock Nails

Hey girls! Today I bring you a very quick nailart I did with a recent acquisition. This is my first time using a large stamping image across all my nails and it was quite fun... on my right hand. My left turned out... not so well, let's say! But you live and you learn and I loved this one while it lasted.
I started with two coats of OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI which is a medium warm toned purple with a beautiful pink/gold shimmer that -sadly- was almost unnoticeable on the nail. The formula was good and self-leveling but the invisible shimmer bothered me, if I see it in the bottle, I want it on my nails.
Then I stamped over my base using Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold (currently my favorite gold for stamping) and using the Nailz Craze NC02 stamping plate. I stretched the peacock feather through all my nails, which made for an interesting effect.
Above you can see how my nails looked in their normal position. Overall, I really liked this mani, but I wish the shimmer in the OPI color was more pronounced. Do you have a tip for fixing invisible shimmer? Please let me know.
